Snake Tail 08:35
Snake tail, in the door, What did you come here for? Squirming present left behind, Life and death, intertwined. Did you escape divinity? Hoping to warn humanity, From the evils now afoot, But you with none could not stay put. We were predisposed to just obey, Hedonism everyday. When you came to make allies, We could not see the honesty in your eyes, Thought that you were the bad guy is some new guise. Snake tail, red and gold, This flesh I now hold. Speaking of a recent past, Memories clear at least. Dreams of resilient enemies, Hoping to change destinies. Wielding blades of fear and hate, Propaganda made to sedate. We were disinclined to see the facts, Knowing what free thought attracts. When the time has come to choose, Wouldn't the majority of us refuse, To cede our powers to those that just abuse? Snake tail, dormant soul, Apart, and yet, still whole. Bestow unto me your sight, Eternal guiding light. Countless perspectives all displayed, Sharing their own serenade. Separate they feel alone, But now combined all can be known. We were ignorant this whole time, To privileges sublime. Tell me friend with lidless gaze, Between hope's false promise and faith's constant haze, can we learn to love before the end of days? Snake tail, bide your time, From this unjust crime. Although you have ceased to be, Your will lives on inside of me.

about

This is an EP of my original material, mostly recorded the year after graduating from U of Miami. It started as a crazy idea on how to spend some savings, and then took years to finish. It was a great learning experience, and I am very pleased with the results. Thank you for taking the time not to hear my music, but to listen to it.

My deepest gratitude to the musicians featured here, who are all great friends & superior performers; to my loving family who have encouraged me for over 20 years and continue to do so; to my friends that were steadfast through life's highs & lows; to the musicians that I've worked with along the way, who continue to inspire me; to my teachers that pushed me to never stop improving, specifically Kathleen Kemp, Bob Stata, Richard DeLaney, Ross Harbaugh, Matt Bonelli, Glenn Basham, Erika Duke-Kirkpatrick, & Vinny Golia; Fernando & Forward Motion Records for giving me the momentum to finally finish, and all the people that donated in order to make this EP a reality. Special thanks to Luke Moellman, Dana Salminen, Pete Cowles, Noel Hart, The New Road crew, AC class of 2004, Crossbridge Church, and my wonderful parents.
